Who wrote Shine on Harvest Moon?

SHINE ON HARVEST MOON was originally performed in "Ziegfeld Follies of 1908" and as written by Nora Bayes [Eleanor Goldberg (1880-1928)] and Jack Norworth in 1909. It has been covered by almost 100 artists. She wrote the music and he wrote the lyrics. She also wrote three other songs; Broken Doll, Has Anybody Here Seen Kelly?, and Singin' the Blues.

A Vaudevillian Diva, popular American singer, comedian, and actress, Nora Bayes was definitely “all that”, and a box of chocolates too! Her salary was among the very highest earned by any vaudevillian at the time, man or woman, but for good reason. She was considered second to none in dramatizing a song—audiences were wild about her! Above all, she was a class act, maintaining a level of dignity and style one associates with legit actresses & opera singers.
